Performance figures are based on the following: Super T-40A (Bubble canopy) with tricycle landing gear and 150 hp engine. The engine horsepower range that has been flown on this design is 100 hp (B-BRIO in the UK) to 150 hp. The prototype Super T-40A has been successfully flown with a Lycoming O-320 150 hp. Gene Turner recommended the 150 hp range for the Super T-40A. Both conventional and tricycle landing gear options are available on the Super T-40A. Each undercarriage option is depicted in the drawings and the builder may choose which option to build. The landing gears were designed using this FAA FAR 23.471, Ground loads as a guide. (The remainder of FAR 23 was used where appropriate.) Stress analyses and static load testing were used to substantiate the aircraft structure.
